About Dr. Bethany Piziks
Master Gestaltist, Certified Life and Equine Gestalt Coaching Method Coach, Retired Dentist
I am deeply committed to inspiring dentists who desire to achieve balance, peace, and prosperity within the challenges of working in a dental practice. For over 20 years I was a clinical dentist, including 6 years in a partnership. In 1997 my career began with starting a practice from scratch. I quickly realized it was the “school of hard knocks” and decided to hire a coach. After noticing exponential progress in leadership, profitability, and personal growth, I discovered that helping others find the same satisfaction is my true mission in life.
So you changed your career?
One of the most difficult and courageous decisions I ever made was to leave a very successful dental career during peak years, and it didn’t happen overnight. Following my heart, I sold my practice, became a Certified Life Coach in 2012, a Certified Equine Gestalt Coach in 2015, and a Master Gestaltist in 2020. This was over 4 years of study and hands-on experience. Helping others leave old, painful patterns in the arena dirt and discover their own joy and purpose is at the core of how I serve, and I’m now in the business of restoring people’s spirits instead of their teeth.
How do the horses fit in?
Horses have always been an important part of my life. The mere presence of a horse literally up-levels your physiology, and is healing for the heart and soul. Horses bring us to our own truth by breaking down walls and seeing straight into our hearts without judgement or expectations.
Combining the wisdom of horses and the positive effects of coaching, I facilitate deeply impactful experiences that put restoring the heart and spirit center stage. Find out what the horses have to say. No one ever forgets what a 1200 -pound animal teaches them!
When not in the barn coaching clients toward their best life, I am most likely riding my horse, Lewistin. He has taken me me across Michigan from Lake Huron to Lake Michigan, a 280 mile ride in 10 days. What an athlete he is!
Eating healthy food is also a passion of mine, and I spend much time planning and preparing whole-food, plant-based meals. Other interests include swimming, biking, and running to train for a triathlon or half-ironman.
My family is the center of my world, and this includes close friends. After losing my younger brother Paul when he was only 52, I’ve learned not to take moments with loved ones for granted.
What is the Equine Gestalt Coaching Method?
The Equine Gestalt Coaching Method® was developed by Melisa Pearce, a core founder since 1989, of the horse-human healing movement. The experiential nature of the method involves the horse as an active partner with the coach in the client’s exploratory process. The integrative approach of the equine’s interaction combined with positive coaching, somatic awareness guidance and Gestalt methodology, assists the client in examining their life and choices made with a focus on designing a positive future.
Another of my favorite activities (besides grazing) is helping people heal their hearts so they can live their best lives. That is my essential gift to humanity and the real reason that I’m on the planet. It’s natural for me to do this; I’m always focused in the present moment and am always completely honest and non-judgmental. Sometimes just standing next to a client and offering a listening ear is enough to remove blocks and promote healing, but I usually do much more than that. Bethany is my partner and often I depend on her to interpret my message. We make a great team!
I’m a very sweet boy and would love to meet you. I hope you come soon to hear my message!
Love, Lewistin
